Hi Dianne! Welcome to another stop on your tour and congrats on your newest book, which I cannot wait to devour. Now. I’m drooling. I’m so excited. Because it’s CLIFF!
Hi, Kimberly! Thanks for letting me visit and for helping me celebrate the big release!
This all started with a couple of vampires who didn’t want to fight and lose to the Immortals in Darkness Dawns. I have mourned the deaths of the others & I have worried about Cliff, like so many of your fans have. When you wrote that group of vampire characters, could you imagine the story that would emerge from them?
I had no idea when I created those characters how much they would come to mean to me and to paranormal romance fans. All vampires in my series suffer progressive brain damage that drives them insane and causes them to become monsters. So I wouldn’t have even thought it possible. But watching how valiantly they fought and tried to hold back the madness, witnessing their struggle and determination to hold onto their innate honor just touched me deeply. And I love that so many readers and audiobook lovers are rooting for Cliff.
Cliff, while we have been with him since the beginning, is a character that we actually don’t know a ton about. We love him. He is brave and strong. He is a brilliant soul. What do you think is the most shocking thing you have discovered about him while telling his story?
Hmm. Cliff’s story has been playing out in my head for years now, so I pretty much knew everything about him before I sat down to write his story. Emma, on the other hand, shocked me more than once. J
Emma seems like another strong gal from our interaction with her previously. What is the most important thing you want to tell us you’ve learned about Emma?
Emma reminds me a lot of Melanie. She knows entering into a relationship with Cliff carries risks, but she will do anything and fight anyone—even the voices in his head—to be with him. I LOVE her strength and tenacity. And I admire her ability to maintain her sense of humor and make Cliff laugh even on his darkest days. That says a lot about her.
This is that obligatory question we always have to ask you, what’s next?
Sooooo much. LOL. More Immortal Guardians… and Others… are clamoring for me to tell their stories. I also have a surprise for Immortal Guardians fans that I’ll share soon. And I’ll be venturing into space again in the next book of the Aldebarian Alliance series. Exploring new worlds and alien species is so much fun!
I personally love all of the stories you tell and the world that you’ve created is fascinating. I appreciate you taking time to stop by and hang out for a few.
