ABOUT THE BOOK
Broken Dawn
Book #10 Immortal Guardians By Dianne Duvall
June 16, 2020
Delve into an exciting new stand-alone novel in New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall's "fast-paced and humorous" (Publishers Weekly), "utterly addictive" (RT Book Reviews) Immortal Guardians series.
Nick Belanger can't stop thinking about the single mother who lives next door. She's smart. She's funny. She's so beautiful he can't stare at her too long for fear his eyes will start to glow. But Kayla thinks he's just an ordinary guy who works in security. Finding out he instead is a powerful immortal warrior who hunts and slays psychotic vampires for a living may not go over well, particularly since she has a daughter she doesn't want to endanger.
Kayla Dorman can keep neither her gaze nor her thoughts from straying to the man next door. Who can blame her really? He is the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome with smart, charming, and honorable thrown in. He's also a few years younger than her and surely would not be interested in a single mom who hasn't dated since her divorce. At least that's what she thinks until an accident nearly takes her life and Nick risks all to save her.
The dynamics of their relationship swiftly change. The friendship they've developed over the years deepens into love as the two spend every minute they can together, laughing and teasing, never suspecting a threat may lurk in the shadows. But that threat soon strikes, making it clear that Nick is the target and his enemy doesn't care if Kayla gets caught in the cross fire. Though Kayla bravely rises to the occasion and is determined to do whatever it takes to help Nick defeat his enemy, Nick is terrified of losing her. Can he identify and eliminate his new nemesis before the man takes everything from him?

Thank you so much for
stopping by and giving us some new information about Broken Dawn and The
Immortal Guardians world! I’m so excited that we are getting this exciting new
book from you so close to The Lasaran!
Thank you for letting me
visit and for helping me celebrate the big release!
1. What can you tell us
about Nick? What is his country of origin? How old is he? Have we met him in
passing before?
Nick’s family was among the
first French settlers in Canada approximately four centuries ago. Though Nick
has lived in my imagination for quite some time now, fans of the series don’t
know him, so new readers or listeners will not be lost at all if they pick up BROKEN
DAWN. Nick is actually the Immortal Guardian who replaced Marcus in Houston
when Marcus transferred to North Carolina a decade or so ago. (I’ve always
wondered about him.) He was also in one of the unnamed immortals who provided
some much-needed backup in DEATH OF DARKNESS.
2. Kayla is a single
mother, how old is her daughter?
Kayla is indeed a single
mother. Her daughter Becca is eighteen and is just starting college.
Coincidentally, she’s studying in North Carolina. But she does return home for
a time in the book. :-)
3. Will there be a home
where immortals gather like that of David’s in Texas? Will this allow us to
learn about other members of the Texas-based Immortal Guardians?
There isn’t a home like David’s
mentioned in this one, but you WILL see other Immortal Guardians . . .
including one that fans of my new Aldebarian Alliance will particularly enjoy:
Eliana. Eliana is Nick’s hunting partner in BROKEN DAWN. I thought you’d all
enjoy seeing what her life was like before her big transfer. ;-) And I think
readers and listeners will like her rather unique approach to hunting psychotic
vampires. It’s one fans of the series haven’t seen yet.
4. There are many stories
that fans would love to hear about; Chris Reordon, Cliff, Alec and Linda, and
I’m sure even more... While it is implied that things we don’t see are
happening off the page, will we get those stories?
A lot of fans have been
asking for Chris to get his own book. His story is definitely one I want to
tell. Alec and Linda’s tale is another highly requested one. It has been
playing out in my imagination ever since I wrote SHADOWS STRIKE. Alec is the
first shy immortal I’ve introduced, so I think fans would enjoy their story.
I’m hoping to write that one soon. And Cliff . . .
I love that so many fans of
the series are rooting for Cliff. I had no idea when I introduced his character
that he would make such an impact. I’m thinking Cliff will feature prominently
in the Immortal Guardians book I release after BROKEN DAWN.
5. Finally, someone asked
me to ask this; do you plan to do any in person appearances?
I don’t have any planned for
this year but am hoping to get out there and meet some of the awesome reader
friends I’ve made online in the future.
Thank you so much for
stopping in and sharing with us!
Thanks
for the great interview! I hope you and your readers will enjoy Nick and
Kayla’s story!

These were some great questions, Kim. Thanks for asking about the personal appearance. ;-) I know that 16th is only a couple of days away now but the anticipation and excitement to almost too much to bear!
Like oh so many fans, I am always trying to figure out the secrets of my favorite authors and narrators. Sebastian York’s name was a big one and when I found out I made it so I tried to forget it. Now, I am on the hunt for the true name of Ruby Dixon. And we all know that she’s amazing but- let’s face it- I’m kinda nosey. So- here is what we know. Ruby Dixon is a pen name because she is a best selling author under another name. She is not Kati Wilde but has used an email address from that site but refuted they are one and the same. She told me while I was interviewing her she didn’t know if I would have read more of her books but didn’t elaborate. This leads me to believe that it is a completely different t genre and, while reading Risdeverse- When She’s Bold there was a line in it that matched a line from another story I read long ago. This lead me to kind of compare writing styles to this Young Adult writer that has always intrigued me and, while I find it hard to believe, I wo
Special Author Q&A with Ruby Dixon! Today, as I’m getting ready to send this message to Ruby, a CNN article comes out . I feel horribly small town beside that article! Alas, I have fan questions that demand information. After all, that’s what I do! I found Ruby years ago when listening to an audiobook by Alexa Riley, an amazing author duo who specializes in short sweet and over the top. The epilogue says “maybe I’ll read him the newest Ruby Dixon book, Ice Planet Holiday. He’s been waiting for the latest barbarian book and he loves it when I get to the sex scenes.” Which prompted me to be like “wait- what?” And do my research. And imagine my surprise when I find this amazing series and author has all these books with half naked blue guys. Can you say “add to cart”? Over the next couple days I’m going to post my reviews and thought on the books along with the interview. So, let’s get this started. Ruby thanks so much for stopping in and answering just a couple questions for me

Q&A with Dianne Duvall Hi Dianne! Welcome to another stop on your tour and congrats on your newest book, which I cannot wait to devour. Now. I’m drooling. I’m so excited. Because it’s CLIFF! Hi, Kimberly! Thanks for letting me visit and for helping me celebrate the big release! This all started with a couple of vampires who didn’t want to fight and lose to the Immortals in Darkness Dawns. I have mourned the deaths of the others & I have worried about Cliff, like so many of your fans have. When you wrote that group of vampire characters, could you imagine the story that would emerge from t
